Reclamation

There are many words and concepts in the enlgish language that do not mean exactly what they imply. For example, "land reclamation" is used to refer to land that has been claimed from something, a swamp, the ocean, a river. This is not truly reclamation, as it was never in the ownership of those who did the claiming. It is high time that words like "reclamation" and "overburden" were restored to their original, untarnished meaning. Please speak accordingly.
